Wanda's Camp Store
Updated Feburary, 2023

Wanda's Camp Store is a RARE business opportunity!

Located just one-half mile from the Lower Tahquamenon Falls State Park Campground's main enterance, the 1.72 acre commercial complex is nestled within an exclusive 80 acre zone which is encompassed by the 50,000 acre state park. Only a fraction of this 80 acre zone is commercial.

Over the past 40 years, many profitable business ventures were developed here such as a resteraunt, body shop, gas station, snowmobile rental, camp store with beer/wine, and a regional commercial firewood and ice delivery service.

HISTORY

The Knoxs purchased the property in 1981 and opened a restaurant and sold firewood to the tourist visiting and camping in the area. In 1986 the foundation of the store was laid and a car repair body shop was born. A small resale area was set up with snacks, drinks, and auto care supplies. Gas tanks were then installed. In 1987 a house was built beside the store. The insulated garage was built in the late 1980's. The restaurant continued to flourish until the mid 1990's. During this time the store started expanding, a beer/wine license was obtained, and the body shop part of the store was remodeled into more store area. Firewood operations expanded along with the selling of bagged ice. Buildings have been added and some removed to bring it to its current state.
