Located just one-half mile from the Lower Tahquamenon Falls State Park Campground's main enterance, the 1.72 acre commercial complex is nestled within an exclusive 80 acre zone which is encompassed by the 50,000 acre state park. Only a fraction of this 80 acre zone is commercial.
Over the past 40 years, many profitable business ventures were developed here such as a resteraunt, body shop, gas station, snowmobile rental, camp store with beer/wine, and a regional commercial firewood and ice delivery service.
The Knoxs purchased the property in 1981 and opened a restaurant and sold firewood to the tourist visiting and camping in the area. In 1986 the foundation of the store was laid and a car repair body shop was born. A small resale area was set up with snacks, drinks, and auto care supplies. Gas tanks were then installed. In 1987 a house was built beside the store. The insulated garage was built in the late 1980's. The restaurant continued to flourish until the mid 1990's. During this time the store started expanding, a beer/wine license was obtained, and the body shop part of the store was remodeled into more store area. Firewood operations expanded along with the selling of bagged ice. Buildings have been added and some removed to bring it to its current state.
Located on the commercial complex are six structures with nine seperate entrances offering some 9200 square feet. Threre are two wells, two septic systems, two 200 amp service boxes, a house with a semi-duplex office/studio upper flat, a cabin, a fully operational store, an insulated garage with two seperate 9x7 bay doors and 8x8 insulated office. There is approximately 300 feet of road frontage on well maintained state highway M-123. White pine, red pine, birch, maple, and oak shade the two adjacent parcels. Located on the west .57 acre parcel are the store building, house building, 12x12 building, and smoke house. Located on the east 1.15 acre parcel are the garage, cabin, and extensive wood yard -which is where the original Tahquamenon Falls Resteraunt began in the 1980's.

The 2300 square foot upstairs store is wide open with west veranda framework overlooking the lower courtyard. The original upstairs store design was for 2 suites, 5 rooms, and 1 common laundry room.
